According to Seneweb sources, elements of the Dakar Regional Narcotics Brigade (BRS) under the OCRTIS have dealt a heavy blow to drug trafficking at the Castor market with the arrest of a dealer in possession of a quantity of kush.

The shock operation.

The arrest took place on Monday, October 7, 2025, at around 10:45 a.m., at the Castor market. The suspect, I. Dia, 25, a resident of Yarakh and claiming to be a fisherman, was arrested by OCRTIS sleuths while he was in the middle of a distribution activity.

A substantial haul seized

Investigators have seized:

-17 bags of kush,

-72 kepas of the same product,

-34,000 FCFA in cash,

-A 50 Chinese yuan note,

-A simple cell phone from the brand "Henin".

In total, 89 doses of kush were removed from the clandestine distribution circuit.

The operation was launched following the exploitation of information indicating I. Dia's involvement in the management of a kush trafficking network gravitating around the Castor market.

Faced with this information, the BRS of Dakar has deployed a strategy in several phases:

Reconnaissance: A specialized team was dispatched to the field to identify the suspect's locations.

Surveillance: The police maintained discreet observation of his activities

Caught in the act: investigators caught the accused in the middle of a transaction with his clients

Muscular intervention: Without wasting any time, the team launched the assault and proceeded to arrest him

When questioned about the police report, I. Dia denied being the owner of the drugs discovered in his possession during his arrest. However, the suspect was unable to provide investigators with any convincing explanation to justify the possession of this quantity of narcotics.

The alleged trafficker was taken into custody for possession of kush for the purpose of trafficking. All evidence (drugs, money, and cell phone) was seized and sealed for the purposes of the investigation.
