Ousmane Sonko nuance sa position sur les directeurs généraux : « C'est un poste technique, différent d'un ministère »
After firmly disavowing the Pastef members who remained in Al Amine Lo's government, Ousmane Sonko provided details regarding the situation of the general managers and heads of public companies appointed under the regime resulting from the alternation.
The leader of Pastef has established a clear distinction between political functions exercised within the government and management positions in national administrations and companies. "The director general is a technical position. It's different from a minister."
According to him, officials holding such positions are not in the same situation as ministers who have agreed to continue their collaboration with the new executive.
A departure in compliance with procedures
Ousmane Sonko, however, indicated that officials who feel they can no longer work with the current regime are free to distance themselves. "Those who no longer wish to work with the regime must do so according to the established procedures."
A position that seems to favour respect for administrative and institutional procedures rather than a hasty departure or a collective resignation.
The former Prime Minister also opened the door for certain officials to continue performing their duties while maintaining their political affiliation with Pastef. "Those who believe they can work without compromising their political allegiance can keep their positions until Diomaye releases them."
