Sortie contre Sonko: Pastef/Somone lance une procédure d'exclusion contre Aldiouma Sow
The Pastef municipal office in Somone announced, in a statement published this Wednesday, the withdrawal of its confidence in its coordinator Aldiouma Sow as well as the opening of a disciplinary procedure aimed at his exclusion from the local bodies of the party.
This follows a publication by Mr. Sow regarding the recent statement by the president of Pastef, Ousmane Sonko.
In its statement, the Pastef/Somone office indicates that it has examined the content of Mr. Sow's statement and believes that the positions he defends therein are "in total contradiction" with the orientations, the values of cohesion and the political line of the party.
The local structure thus affirms that it "officially disagrees" with the remarks made by Aldiouma Sow, which it considers to be a strictly personal stance that in no way reflects the position of the municipal coordination.
Meeting in an extraordinary session, the bureau decided to withdraw its confidence in its coordinator and to initiate disciplinary proceedings in accordance with Pastef's statutes and regulations. This action could result in his exclusion from the local bureau's governing bodies.
This decision comes in a context marked by internal debates sparked by Ousmane Sonko's recent statement and the reactions it provoked within certain grassroots members of the party.
In its note, the Pastef/Somone municipal office reaffirms its "unwavering commitment to party unity, militant discipline and the preservation of the patriotic project", implicitly calling on officials and activists to comply with the line defined by the governing bodies.
