Attaque de l’aéroport de Niamey : La Côte d’Ivoire convoque l’ambassadrice du Niger
Yesterday, Friday, January 30, the Ivorian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nialé Kaba, summoned the Nigerien ambassador to Côte d'Ivoire. This was to express the Ivorian government's strong indignation at the "serious and unacceptable" remarks made by General Tiani against President Alassane Ouattara.
These remarks constitute a "serious attack on the honor and dignity of President Ouattara"
Indeed, the Nigerien number 1 had accused Mr. Ouattara and two other heads of state of being the sponsors of the mercenaries who attacked Niamey airport on the night of January 28-29, 2026.
Nialé Kaba, "condemned in the strongest possible terms these statements which constitute a serious attack on the honor and dignity of President Ouattara and the Ivorian people".
She recalls that her country has consistently worked to maintain fraternal and friendly relations with the countries of the West African sub-region.
A formal note of protest was delivered to the Nigerien ambassador.
He will therefore not tolerate "Ivorian institutions being the object of actions likely to compromise relations" between Niger and Ivory Coast.
At the end of the meeting with the Nigerien diplomat, Ms. Kaba presented her with a formal note of protest, to be forwarded to the highest authorities in her country. Abidjan promises to remain attentive to the follow-up to this diplomatic initiative. It does not rule out the possibility of taking further action depending on how the situation develops.

Si la France, la Côte d'Ivoire et le Bénin avaient décidé de lui faire un Putch, Aujourd'hui il serait à Paris ou Abidjan mains menottées.
