The Customs Mobile Intervention Unit (UMI) dismantled a structured network trafficking prohibited medicines during the night of December 12th in an operation carried out in two phases.

The initial operation resulted in the seizure of 136 boxes hidden in a freight truck. The investigation then led officers to the eastern suburbs of Ouagadougou, where 80 more boxes were discovered.

In total, 216 cartons of illicit products, with an estimated value of over 100 million FCFA, were removed from clandestine circuits, highlighting the major risks to public health and the national economy.
