In Burkina Faso, the commune of Zano (central-eastern part of the country) was the scene of a heated argument between a lawyer and two residents on September 2. The lawyer known as Paul Kéré "allegedly used his handgun (during this argument), causing serious injuries" to one of the participants, the Attorney General at the Fada N'Gourma Court of Appeal reported in a statement.
Placed under arrest warrant
The victim was "quickly taken care of and received emergency treatment at the Tenkodogo Regional Hospital Center."
Having been seized of the case, the Public Prosecutor's Office, after consulting the President of the Bar, immediately instructed the Tenkodogo Public Prosecutor's Office to open a thorough investigation in order to shed light on the exact circumstances of this incident and to ensure strict compliance with the law.
Yesterday, Friday, September 5, Lefaso.net reported that the lawyer had been remanded in custody. In other words, he is in prison.
