« C’est être unis pour éviter d’aller aux élections » : Tiken Jah Fakoly charge à nouveau les dirigeants de l’AES
Gone are the days when Tiken Jah Fakoly heaped praise on the Alliance of Sahel States (AES). The reggae artist, who was once received at the Kosyam Palace in Ouagadougou, has become highly critical of the Sahelian coup leaders.
In a recent interview with Deutsche Welle (DW), he accuses them of having created a confederation to maintain their power.
"The three countries that make up the AES today say they are united, but they have three presidents, there are three governments. So, we get the impression that, well, it's about being united to avoid going to elections," said the performer of "Tous ensemble."
"Even for me, who has been singing about unity for a while now, I feel like I've failed."
He regrets the departure of these three Sahelian countries from ECOWAS. "I would have preferred the community to grow instead of dividing. Today we are divided, therefore we are divided and weakened. I feel that we have failed, and even for me, who has been singing the praises of unity for some time, I feel that I have failed because, instead of people being united, ultimately people are divided," he declared.
