Conakry : violents incidents à l’hôpital Ignace Deen après une opération antidrogue à Boulbinet
CONAKRY (SeneWeb) – A tense scene occurred during the night of Thursday, October 16 to Friday, October 17, 2025, at the Ignace Deen Hospital in Conakry, following an anti-drug operation carried out in the Boulbinet district, in the commune of Kaloum.
According to several testimonies collected on site, the police intervention caused a series of incidents which almost degenerated within the hospital itself.
It all began when a young man was stabbed during the operation. The alleged stabber fled the scene, while the victim, who was seriously injured, was rushed to Ignace Deen Hospital for treatment.
Once there, tensions rose. Relatives of the injured man, who were in the hospital courtyard, reportedly saw an individual they accused of helping the attacker escape. Attacked, the attacker attempted to escape and ran toward the biochemistry laboratory.
"As he fled, he violently smashed the windows before forcing his way inside," said a witness, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Alerted by the commotion, a security guard intervened to try to subdue the fugitive. But in the confusion, both were injured: the suspect, who fell through the windows, and the guard, who was hit in the head. They were immediately taken to the hospital emergency room for treatment.
According to the witness, the incident caused a moment of panic among the medical staff and patients present.
Contacted by SeneWeb, the laboratory manager preferred not to comment on the matter for the moment.
An investigation is underway to clarify the exact circumstances of this incident which occurred on the sidelines of the anti-drug operation in Boulbinet.
