Côte d’Ivoire : Alassane Ouattara annonce un dispositif sécuritaire renforcé pour la présidentielle
Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara chaired a meeting of the National Security Council in Abidjan on Thursday, October 2, 2025, to discuss the country's security situation.
The National Security Council noted continued improvements in security and presented Operation Hope, mobilizing 44,000 defense and security forces to secure the October 25 presidential election. This system, already tested during a simulation exercise in September, includes foot and vehicle patrols throughout the country.
The Head of State congratulated the ministers and forces involved, while instructing the Justice and Security Departments to prevent any unrest, particularly by banning illegal demonstrations. He also praised the involvement of traditional, religious, and civil society leaders in promoting peace.
