Côte d’Ivoire : Interdiction de tout rassemblement public contestant les décisions du Conseil constitutionnel
The National Security Council (CNS) announced on October 2, 2025, the ban on any public gathering challenging the decisions of the Constitutional Council, while the opposition planned a march on October 4 to demand inclusive and transparent elections.
To secure the presidential election on October 25, 44,000 members of the defense and security forces have been mobilized. The CNS justifies this measure by the rise of hateful, xenophobic, and subversive remarks since the publication of the final list of candidates.
The Abidjan prefecture confirmed the ban on the opposition march, citing the risk of public disorder.
