Côte d’Ivoire : Le message de Tiken Jah Fakoly à Ouattara

Out of sight, close to heart. Although he has lived in Mali for several years, Tiken Jah Fakoly's interest in Côte d'Ivoire has never waned. He is therefore not insensitive to the political situation in his country.

Needless to say, President Ouattara is running for a fourth term in a rather tense context where the main opponents have been removed from the electoral list.

"Those in power have been victims of a situation that they want to inflict..."

The reggaeman admits that he didn't think such a scenario could still occur in Ivory Coast. "There are several of us Ivorians who are sad. We are sad because we didn't think what is happening would happen again. It's still incredible. Those in power have been victims of a situation that they want to inflict on those in the opposition today. Ivory Coast has seen too many deaths. The last lives we lost were 3,000 deaths after the post-election crisis," the artist recalled before sending a very solemn message to Alassane Ouattara.

"I think that if President Laurent Gbagbo is not a candidate, it is important that he himself not be a candidate. And that will allow us to begin a process of renewing the political class," the artist declared.
