Effondrement d’un immeuble à Bamako : Le bilan s’alourdit
In Mali, a building under construction collapsed last Sunday in the Daoudabougou neighborhood of Bamako's Commune V. The General Directorate of Civil Protection reported two deaths and about twenty injuries the day after the tragedy. Yesterday, Tuesday, rescue workers recovered four more bodies from the rubble, bringing the death toll to six and the number of injured to around twenty.
Two other people are still missing, according to security sources. Search operations are continuing to pull them from the rubble.
Following this tragedy, the General Directorate of Civil Protection reiterated that strict adherence to building standards and applicable legal provisions is essential to prevent such building collapses and ensure the safety of the population.
