Gabon : Le ministre du Tourisme serait assigné à résidence
In Gabon, the Minister of Sustainable Tourism and Handicrafts, Pascal Ogowé Siffon, is reportedly under house arrest following his arrest in Essassa, in Greater Libreville, at the end of November. He is suspected of embezzling more than 10 billion CFA francs. An investigation is underway to shed light on this case.
The 10 billion CFA francs in question were reportedly allocated to the Ministry of Tourism between 2023 and 2025. They were intended to finance ecolodges, strategic acquisitions, and tourism infrastructure. None of these projects have materialized.
On social media, Pascal Ogowé Siffon called on his loved ones to remain calm, promising to clear his name.
Clearly, the man does not acknowledge the charges against him.
