Gabon : Les mots touchants du Président Oligui Nguéma à sa femme Zita
This is quite rare in Africa. Gabonese President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguéma took advantage of his wife Zita's 47th birthday celebration last Thursday to pay tribute to her.
"On this very special day, I would like to publicly address the one who, in the silence of storms as in the brilliance of victories, has always been by my side: my wife Zita. A woman of heart and conviction, your discreet but unwavering presence has always been for me a strength, a light, a beacon in the tumult of responsibilities. You knew how to bear, with grace and humility, the weight of the gaze and the expectations of a people. And despite the demands of a sometimes harsh destiny, you knew how to remain true to yourself: attentive, strong, lucid," wrote the leader on his Facebook page.
“Zita, I wish you a birthday that lives up to your soul: noble, deep and filled with peace.”
Further, he states that his wife is "an exceptional woman." A woman who, by her presence, reminds him "every day" why he is "fighting for a fairer, more united and more humane Gabon."
"Zita, I wish you a birthday that lives up to your soul: noble, profound and filled with peace. May God protect you, elevate you and keep you. And may our Nation always recognize the value of those who, like you, work in the shadows with love, silence and dedication. Happy birthday, my wife, my ally," concluded the leader.
