Grand-Dakar : 2 dealers arrêtés par la police avec 5 kg de chanvre indien
The officers of the Grand-Dakar district police station's investigation unit have made a major breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking. Thanks to a meticulously planned operation, they apprehended two individuals in possession of 5 kg of cannabis in the Ben Tally neighborhood on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, according to Seneweb sources.
It all started with a tip-off about heavy cannabis trafficking in the area. On orders from their superiors, investigators set up a discreet foot patrol around 8:00 p.m. After a few minutes of observation, they spotted a Jakarta motorcycle carrying two men traveling the wrong way. The officers immediately intercepted the motorcycle. During the stop, they discovered a bag containing five blocks of cannabis weighing a total of 5 kg in the occupants' saddlebag. The two men were arrested on the spot. They are D. Guèye, born in 1992, a carpenter residing in Petit Mbao, and G. Ndiaye, also born in 1992, an electrician also residing in Petit Mbao.
Under brief questioning, D. Guèye admitted to owning the drugs, stating that he had bought them in Mbao, without providing further details. His companion, G. Ndiaye, attempted to exonerate himself by claiming that he was only transporting D. Guèye on his motorcycle.
The two men were taken to the Grand-Dakar police station and placed in custody for conspiracy, possession, and trafficking of marijuana. The seized motorcycle and drugs were impounded at the station, while the public prosecutor's office was notified and an investigation was launched to trace the supply chain.
