Guinée – Kindia : une fillette de 3 ans victime de viol à Féréfou, l’indignation grandit
A new tragedy has rocked the city of Kindia. On the evening of Friday, September 12, 2025, a three-year-old girl was raped in Féréfou, a neighborhood in the urban commune. According to the family, the alleged perpetrator of this heinous act was a young man of about 25, found drunk.
It was almost 7 p.m. when the victim's mother went to a nearby shop to buy bread. She left her little girl sitting on a bench, convinced she would find her when she returned. But a few minutes later, the child had disappeared.
"I asked and was told that a young man had taken my daughter. I immediately went out to look for her," the girl's mother said, her voice trembling.
According to her testimony, several residents told her they had seen the man in question accompanied by the child. One of them even guided her to a nearby bar where the suspect was reportedly seen, drunk and unsteady, with the girl.
A blood-curdling testimony
The mother continued: "A young man told me he knew the suspect's home. I gave him 5,000 FG and he showed me the house. Once I arrived, his sisters confirmed that their brother was with my daughter. His mother told me not to worry, that her son loved children and that she would let me know when he returned. But I couldn't just stand by and do nothing."
A few hours later, the girl was found in critical condition. Rushed to Kindia Regional Hospital, doctors confirmed that she had been raped, causing severe physical and psychological trauma.
Investigation opened, population in shock
Upon being informed, local authorities opened an investigation to locate the suspect and question him about the incident. The gendarmerie has been notified, and the search is ongoing.
In the Féréfou neighborhood, emotions are running high. "What happened is unacceptable. We demand that justice do its work. Children must be protected," exclaims one outraged resident.
This tragedy has rekindled the debate on the rise in sexual violence against minors in Guinea. Women's and children's rights groups regularly point out that many cases remain unpunished due to a lack of judicial oversight and resources.
For many, the Féréfou affair should serve as a wake-up call. "If this man is not severely punished, it will send a message of impunity. Guinea must protect its children," pleaded a local activist reached by telephone.
While the girl remains hospitalized, her relatives and the Kindia community are demanding justice. This heinous crime, which affects the most vulnerable of victims, calls upon all of Guinean society to urgently strengthen the fight against sexual violence and guarantee the safety of children.
