Guinée : Mamadi Doumbouya fixe la date des élections législatives et communales au 24 mai 2026
A few months after the presidential election of December 28, 2025, Guinea continues its political calendar with the announcement of new electoral deadlines. The President of the Republic, Mamadi Doumbouya, has set the date for the legislative and municipal elections for Sunday, May 24, 2026.
This decision marks an important step in consolidating the institutions of the Fifth Republic. Following the establishment of the new authorities resulting from the presidential election, these elections will renew the National Assembly and appoint municipal executives throughout the country.
In an official statement, the Presidency of the Republic emphasizes that this election is in line with the Head of State's desire to strengthen democracy, promote participatory governance and consolidate decentralization.
Political parties, the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) and all stakeholders are urged to mobilize to ensure free, transparent and peaceful elections.
By setting this date, Son E Mamadi Doumbouya reaffirms his commitment to working towards a democratic, united Guinea focused on sustainable development.
