Guinée : Un adolescent de 17 ans poignardé à mort dans une boîte de nuit à Doko

The tragedy, which occurred in the rural commune of Doko, highlights a worrying rise in violence involving young people in the Siguiri prefecture. A judicial inquiry was immediately launched to shed light on this case.

The rural commune of Doko is still reeling from the tragic death of Bangaly Diawara, a 17-year-old boy who died during a violent altercation at a nightclub. According to multiple reports, an initial fight broke out around 11 p.m., before escalating several hours later. Around 3 a.m., a second, much more violent confrontation erupted between several individuals. It was during this clash that young Bangaly Diawara was fatally stabbed.

Seriously injured, the teenager was rushed to the Siguiri prefectural hospital, where he was admitted around 6 a.m. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, he did not survive his injuries. The forensic pathologist, Dr. Abdoulaye Bassirou Condé, confirmed that the victim succumbed to hemorrhagic shock following a deep wound caused by a bladed weapon, likely a knife.

The circumstances remain unclear, and several arrests have been made.

While the exact reasons for this altercation remain to be established, investigators from the research brigade are currently exploring several leads. Initial hypotheses suggest a dispute involving a young woman or an argument related to a mobile phone. Having been assigned the case, the public prosecutor at the Court of First Instance of Siguiri has ordered an investigation. According to sources close to the case, several people have already been arrested and brought before the courts.

Following this tragedy, Dr. Abdoulaye Bassirou Condé issued an urgent appeal for parental responsibility, emphasizing the need for stricter supervision of young people. He reiterated that education and consistent monitoring of children are essential tools for preventing this type of violence, which is increasingly common in certain festive settings.

This brutal death reignites the debate on safety in entertainment venues and the management of juvenile delinquency in Guinea. Beyond the emotional impact, this tragedy raises the crucial question of what measures should be taken to prevent such acts from continuing to claim the lives of young people in the prime of their lives.
