Guinée : Un individu déguisé en femme surpris en train d’enlever deux enfants au quartier Cimenterie
Vigilant citizens thwarted an attempted kidnapping last weekend in the Cimenterie neighborhood, on the outskirts of Conakry. An individual disguised as a woman was caught trying to steal two children, aged two months and one year.
According to witnesses, the man, to avoid arousing suspicion, disguised himself as a woman. But his suspicious behavior eventually attracted the attention of local residents, who managed to subdue him before the arrival of the security forces. The two children were returned to their parents, safe and sound. The suspect, meanwhile, was reportedly taken to the police station for further investigation.
Local authorities are calling on the public to be more vigilant, particularly in public places and markets, in the face of a resurgence of this type of worrying act.
"We urge parents to closely monitor their children and report any suspicious behavior," a security source said.
This case reignites the debate on child safety in the country's major cities, where several cases of abduction or attempted abduction have been reported in recent months.
