Le père d’un footballeur brésilien condamné à 14 ans de prison pour double homicide
The sentence is severe. The court in Santa Maria, Brazil, sentenced the father of footballer Felipe Anderson to 14 years in prison yesterday, Thursday, August 28, 2025, for double homicide. The events took place in 2015.
Sebastiao Tomé Gomes was found guilty of running over and killing Bruno Santos da Silva and Noeme Caldeira Gomes in the early hours of January 12 of that year. According to the prosecution, Sebastiao committed the first crime out of jealousy and a desire for possession.
Indeed, according to witnesses, Salmeriza Alves Pugas, his partner, was having a relationship with the unfortunate Bruno Santos da Silva. The latter had gone to his lover's home where an argument broke out.
The unfortunate man succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
Panicked, the woman called Sebastiao Tomé Gomes to inform him of Bruno's presence at her house and asked him to call the police. But he decided to go to Salmeriza's house himself to "solve the problem."
Upon arrival, he spots Bruno leaving the house on his motorcycle. He chases him and ends up knocking him down. The unfortunate man succumbs to his injuries on the spot. In the process, the player's father loses control of his vehicle. The vehicle heads straight for the house of 61-year-old Noeme, killing her in her sleep.
At the time of the incident, the Brazilian international stated through his press office that he was shocked by the crimes and did not wish to speak publicly about the matter. He was playing for Lazio at the time. Today, the footballer plays for Palmeiras, a major Brazilian club.
