LâUnion africaine solidaire de Madagascar touchĂ©e par un cyclone
The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, expressed his deep concern and solidarity with Madagascar, which has been severely affected by Cyclone Gezani, declared a national disaster.
On behalf of the continental organization, he offered his condolences to the bereaved families and expressed his support for the injured and displaced persons. He also commended the Malagasy authorities and local communities for their swift response to the emergency.
The African Union calls on member states, international partners, and humanitarian actors to rapidly mobilize resources to support relief and reconstruction operations. The Commission reaffirms its readiness to support Madagascar in its efforts toward recovery, stability, and sustainable development.
