Madagascar: le ministre des Forces armées accepte le chef d'état major nommé par une unité qui s'est mutinée
The Malagasy Minister of the Armed Forces on Sunday recognized as chief of staff an officer chosen by a military unit that sided with protesters demanding the departure of President Andry Rajoelina.
General Demosthenes Pikulas was sworn in as Chief of the Defence Staff during a ceremony at the headquarters, attended by Minister of the Armed Forces Manantsoa Deramasinjaka Rakotoarivelo. "I give him my blessing," the minister said of Mr. Pikulas, who was chosen by the CAPSAT unit that joined the anti-government protesters on Saturday.
