Mali : L’énorme quantité de carburant importée par Bamako en mars 2026
In Mali, the 18th session of the Consultation Framework between oil industry associations and the government was held on Thursday, April 2nd in Bamako, under the auspices of the Minister of Industry and Trade, Moussa Alassane Diallo. Participants reviewed the country's overall hydrocarbon supply over the past few weeks.
Minister Diallo, for example, revealed that "105 million liters" of fuel transported by "2200 tanker trucks" returned (to Mali) during March 2026.
This has allowed the population to have access to petroleum products throughout the entire national territory, the authority reports. Another important point raised during this 18th session of the Consultation Framework was the current situation of the hydrocarbon market in light of the war in the Middle East.
"Diversify the corridor, particularly towards Nigeria and Ghana, and possibly strengthen the Lomé axis"
The minister indicated that the government is working to diversify the supply corridor in order to reduce costs.
“We have taken some steps to secure the Kayes corridor, which should allow us to diversify our supply sources, and also to diversify the corridor, particularly towards Nigeria and Ghana, and potentially strengthen the Lomé corridor,” the official stated. He hopes to stabilize the country’s fuel supply in the coming days.
