Mali : Les FAMA mènent une frappe ciblée contre des groupes terroristes à la frontière mauritanienne
The Malian Armed Forces (FAMA) conducted a precision air operation on Monday, February 2, 2026, in the locality of Foïta, located on the border between Mali and Mauritania, as part of the surveillance and security of the national territory.
According to a statement from the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Malian Armed Forces (FAMA) aircraft neutralized several terrorist elements and destroyed vehicles during a strike targeting enemy positions. The operation followed extensive reconnaissance that identified a suspicious group of about ten armed individuals gathered around three camouflaged pickup trucks.
After a surveillance phase aimed at confirming the hostile nature of the group and its intentions, Malian forces carried out a precise strike, limiting collateral damage, the same source indicates.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces assures that operations to search, monitor and neutralize terrorist groups are actively continuing throughout the national territory in order to guarantee the security of the population and the territorial integrity of Mali.
