Niger : Création de la Société Nigérienne des Pipelines Intérieurs (SNPI)
In Niger, the government adopted, in a cabinet meeting yesterday, Monday, May 18, the decree establishing the Nigerien Inland Pipelines Company (SNPI). This new entity "is intended to carry out activities related to the transport of hydrocarbons by pipeline, as well as all related or complementary activities" throughout the national territory.
Responsible for managing the internal pipeline linking the Agadem area to the Zinder refinery (SORAZ)
In this capacity, it is notably responsible for ensuring the management, operation, maintenance and safety of all hydrocarbon transport networks by pipelines in the territory of the Republic of Niger; for conducting studies for the design, construction, modernization, extension and optimization of hydrocarbon transport networks by pipelines throughout the national territory; for ensuring the management, operation, maintenance and safety of the internal pipeline linking the Agadem area to the Zinder refinery (SORAZ) and for guaranteeing the technical availability of this pipeline and the continuity of crude transport between Agadem and SORAZ.
More generally, SNPI may carry out all commercial and industrial operations directly or indirectly related to its corporate purpose or likely to promote the development of the company.
Note that the creation of this new entity is part of the return of the Agadem/Zinder pipeline to state ownership.
