Niger : Des établissements privés bientôt sanctionnés pour non-respect de la baisse des frais de scolarité
For the 2025-2026 school year, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Abdoulaye Seydou, warned that sanctions will be applied against institutions that refuse to implement the government decree imposing a 20% reduction on tuition fees across the country.
A monitoring mechanism has recorded 103 complaints against 35 establishments, including some public establishments with a private component. The violations noted concern the non-application of the measure, circumventions through new headings, and disguised increases.
Measures are planned for other regulated sectors to ensure compliance with prices set by the State.
