Niger : Le pied de nez du général Tiani aux djihadistes
Niger's president, General Abdourahmane Tiani, began a tour of the country last weekend. This is his first such trip since seizing power by force in July 2023. The strongman of Niamey is scheduled to visit six of Niger's eight regions.
Yesterday, Tuesday, November 11, the coup leader was in Agadez, the third stop on his trip. He had previously visited Dosso and Tahoua.
Agadez, where it all began
His arrival in Agadez is symbolic. Indeed, this city was the scene of the country's first terrorist attack. It was in May 2013. A pickup truck rigged with explosives and driven by suicide bombers detonated inside the city's military camp after breaching the security barrier.
A second vehicle driven by jihadists then entered the camp, opening fire on the soldiers. Around twenty soldiers were killed.
Since 2013, other jihadist attacks have taken place in the Agadez region. More recently, in September 2025, Islamist insurgents targeted two National Guard positions in Abalama.
The sole master of the place
The soldiers managed to repel the terrorist attacks. However, they suffered losses in their ranks.
By traveling to Agadez by land, General Tiani wants to demonstrate that he is in control of the security situation in the country. It is also a defiant gesture against the terrorists operating in the region.

Mais pour donner l'impression du contraire, le journaliste-propagandiste a du aller chercher une histoire vieille de 12 ans, oui, vieille de 12 ans, sans rapport avec ce voyage pour l'accoler et pour pour tenter de semer la confusion dans les esprits. Ceci n'est qu'un exemple des techniques de manipulation des esprits auxquels procèdent ces gens tous les jours.
Aujourd'hui le terrorisme au Sahel est plus dans la propagande médiatique française que sur le terrain car les terroristes ont été quasiment tous décimés et ne survivent plus que dans les articles de presse et les faux reportages francais.
