Niger : un accord sanitaire de 178 millions de dollars signé avec les États-Unis
Niger and the United States have signed a $178 million strategic cooperation protocol aimed at strengthening Niger's health system.
According to the US embassy, this five-year agreement is part of the Trump administration's "America First" global health strategy. It aims to strengthen the resilience and autonomy of the health system, while improving surveillance and response to infectious diseases.
Washington plans to provide up to $107 million in support over five years, particularly for the fight against malaria, polio, and infectious diseases, as well as for maternal and child health. For its part, the Nigerien government has pledged to increase its national health spending by more than $71 million.
The agreement emphasizes direct bilateral cooperation to support frontline services and ensure measurable results.
