Niger : Vers une évaluation annuelle des agents de la Fonction publique
On September 4, 2025, the Nigerien government adopted a draft decree establishing the annual evaluation of civil service employees based on their individual performance. Each employee will now be subject to an evaluation interview, which will be followed by a report, in order to measure their performance within the administration.
This reform, included in the General Civil Service Regulations, aims to strengthen the efficiency of the State and better respond to the needs of general interest.
The Council of Ministers also amended the law on the General Status of the Civil Service to raise the retirement age from 60 to 62 years, with adjustments concerning recruitment, reclassification and admission to retirement.
