Nouvelle gouvernance à la tête du marché financier régional
The Financial Markets Authority of the West African Monetary Union (UMOA) confirmed the appointment of Kossi Tenou as the institution's president, following the extraordinary session of the Council of Ministers held on November 25, 2025. This decision follows the departure of Badanam Patoki, who has now been called upon to join the Togolese government.
The Amf-Umoa highlighted the latter's contribution to the modernization of the regional market and the consolidation of its regulatory mechanisms, work praised for having strengthened transparency and the confidence of the actors.
The appointment of Kossi Tenou marks a new chapter for the institution, with the continuation of projects considered crucial for the depth and stability of the Union's financial market. The WAEMU ministers expressed their confidence in his ability to maintain the momentum already underway, boost the attractiveness of the regional market, and strengthen investor protection. This governance transition is seen as a continuation of efforts to reinforce the credibility and robustness of the Union's financial system.
