Retour annoncé de Yahya Jammeh en Gambie : Les commentaires d'Adama Barrow
For many, it's a bluff, but caution dictates remaining cautious. Former Gambian President Yahya Jammeh has announced his return to Banjul this November. His supporters, who naturally hang on his every word, have already begun placing his party's flags on lampposts in anticipation of his return.
"He undoubtedly understands the powers of a sitting President."
Gambian President Adama Barrow believes Jammeh cannot return to the country without his approval and he is well aware of this.
"He is a former President and he undoubtedly knows the powers of a sitting president. In any case, the country is open and planes fly every day. Let him come," said Barrow, almost as if to challenge the native of Foni Kanilai.
According to The Standard, which reported the information, the State House tenant made these remarks on Tuesday evening during a trip to Salikeni, a city in the east of the country.
