Sanoyah : des femmes manifestent contre la recrudescence des accidents de circulation
Tensions were high this Tuesday morning in the Koussouboungny sector, Kalokhaya district, in Sanoyah. Local women took to the streets to protest the increasing number of traffic accidents on the new road running alongside the railway tracks, which they say has become a real danger to residents.
At the scene, the protesters pointed the finger at the excessive speed of drivers, which they consider responsible for many tragedies in the area.
Hadja Mabinty Traoré, spokesperson for the movement, explains the reasons for this mobilization:
“This morning, we decided to demonstrate to draw the authorities’ attention to the numerous accidents in our area. Our loved ones are paralyzed at home because of speeding drivers. This new road along the railway has become deadly. Just yesterday, a vehicle hit two of our young people without even stopping. We are asking the government to install speed bumps to limit speed,” she said.
The women also denounce the absence of speed bumps on this road, a situation which they believe encourages dangerous driving and particularly exposes children and the elderly.

Faced with the prolonged road blockage, law enforcement forces were dispatched to the scene to restore traffic flow after several hours of disruption.
Despite this intervention, the protesters in Koussouboungny say they are determined to continue their actions until concrete measures are taken. They are directly appealing to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, demanding the urgent construction of speed bumps to secure the road and prevent further tragedies.
