Sécurité renforcée au Gabon : Plus de 2 200 agents mobilisés contre le crime et l’immigration clandestine
Gabon is launching a large-scale operation to combat illegal immigration, drug trafficking, and organized crime. The initiative, announced by General Serge Hervé Ngoma on November 17, 2025, will target Greater Libreville and several cities in the interior of the country, according to Gabon Media Time.
More than 2,200 police officers will be deployed to cordon off sensitive areas, conduct identity checks, vehicle searches, and raids, with the aim of seizing illicit goods and arresting perpetrators. Specialized units, such as the BRI, the BAC, and the GAS, will operate within the secured perimeters.
The operation, which will be repeated every two weeks, aims to strengthen security and reassure the population in the face of crime and illegal immigration.
