Situation sécuritaire au Mali : La demande du PIT au président Diomaye pour la réconciliation nationale dans ce pays
The Independence and Labor Party (PIT) of Senegal is concerned about the situation in Mali. In a statement sent to Seneweb, the Secretariat of the Central Committee called on the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, to "commit resolutely" to promoting national reconciliation in Mali. According to this political party, Mali is also Senegal. "For several weeks now, increasingly alarming reports have indicated growing threats to the Malian capital due to the continued advance of rebel forces. Having almost complete control of the terrain, these forces are inexorably approaching Bamako, emboldened by the panic gripping the regular army and by successive military setbacks on several fronts," the PIT Central Committee Secretariat emphasized.
He adds: “Frightening images, widely shared on social media, depict a situation that has become unbearable for the civilian population, who are facing shortages of all kinds. The main victims of this conflict, they find themselves caught, against their will, between the rebel advance and the reactions of their own armed forces. To date, almost all of Bamako’s fuel supply routes are reportedly cut off or impassable. The Malian economy is thus in a deplorable state, with a general surge in prices: a kilogram of rice can now sell for several thousand CFA francs!”
At this rate, and according to increasingly consistent sources, the PIT of Senegal maintains that "the capture of Bamako is no longer a distant scenario but a very real possibility," despite the announced support of the AES allies. "Let's be clear: the purely military solution in Mali has reached its limits, and the ruling junta is now facing its responsibilities. It seems urgent to us that the Malian government take the initiative in a courageous and inclusive approach, bringing together all peace-loving forces to break the spiral of hatred and violence and initiate a genuine return to calm in the country. There is no other credible alternative to peace to alleviate the suffering of the victimized populations who are in no way responsible for this devastating war," the text reads.
According to the PIT, "too much blood has been shed in this country for us to continue practicing the ostrich policy!"
Expressing its deep sorrow to the sons and daughters of Mali at the deadly spectacle of a country disintegrating under the weight of an endless conflict, the Independence and Labour Party calls on the state authorities of the Republic of Mali to "show restraint and dignity by reaching out to all those who can make the voice of reason heard in order to obtain an immediate end to hostilities with disastrous consequences for the entire sub-region."
The PIT also called on ECOWAS, the African Union and the UN as well as all democratic and republican forces in Senegal and elsewhere "that can contribute to calming and lifting the blockade which is affecting populations deprived of food and fuel".
According to him, now is the time to invoke the history between Mali and Senegal, which in the past formed a single state.

Bon vent
