Tunisie: un des bateaux principaux de la flottille internationale pour Gaza attaqué
One of the main ships in the international flotilla to Gaza was attacked during the night of Monday 8 to Tuesday 9 September, at the port of Sidi Bou Said in Tunis.
Witnesses said they saw a drone fly over the boat and then heard an explosion. Part of the boat then caught fire, which the crew was able to control and extinguish.
There were no injuries, but several witnesses on the scene from the Global Sumud Flotilla denounced an attempt at sabotage as all the boats were due to set sail on Wednesday, September 10, to try to establish a humanitarian corridor to Gaza.
The Tunisian National Guard responded overnight by stating that it had detected "no drones." "The investigation is continuing," said Houcem Eddine Jebabli, the National Guard spokesman.
