Valoriser la production nationale : Une unité industrielle de transformation d’arachide à Touba
In the dynamic of strengthening its food and industrial sovereignty, Senegal is taking a new step, with the establishment of a modern industrial unit for processing peanuts and their derivatives in the heart of the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Touba terminal.
This initiative is part of a global strategy aimed at promoting national production, reducing post-harvest losses, promoting exports, encouraging import-substitution, while creating skilled jobs for the benefit of local populations. It marks a concrete response to the major challenges of local processing, the creation of added value and the economic empowerment of territories.
This complex includes, in particular, a dry port with a capacity of 100,000 containers, a 250 ha industrial and logistics park, a modern agricultural exchange designed to structure trade, support infrastructure, including a 50 MW solar park and residential solutions for workers and investors.
"This project is part of the desire to strengthen the company's role as a national leader in the peanut sector and to increase its regional competitiveness. Touba's strategic position and its economic weight make it a natural choice for such an establishment," said El Hadj Ndane Diagne, CEO of SONACOS SA.
“The establishment of SONACOS in this integrated ecosystem validates our vision of making Touba a major economic hub in West Africa where political vision meets private action for the benefit of the population,” said Khadim Kébé, President of Focus Investment Group.
