« Grossesse » non désirée à la FSF…
It takes a singular degree of incompetence, or a supreme disregard for the ridiculous, to dare to publicly assert that the head doctor of the national football team is a gynecologist who's wandered onto the pitch. By thus disqualifying Dr. Abderahmane Fédior, the president of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has committed a travesty of management that exemplifies our greatest tragedy: amateurism draped in arrogance.
Let's be clear, Dr. Fédior doesn't deliver our victories, he treats our athletes. The statement from the Senegalese Association of Sports Medicine (ASMS) has, moreover, set the record straight with surgical precision. The accused holds a DES (Diploma of Specialized Studies) in sports medicine from UCAD (Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar), is a medical officer for CAF (Confederation of African Football) and FIFA, and has officiated at five AFCON tournaments and three World Cups. How can a serious leader ignore the credentials of his own elite staff?
This ludicrous misunderstanding demonstrates that our football, despite its millions and trophies, remains run like a neighborhood association. To settle personal scores, they don't hesitate to publicly humiliate our academic and scientific expertise. If our governing bodies still confuse sports injury with obstetrics, it's a clear sign that Senegal is simply not ready for professionalism. In terms of decency and respect for established professionals, the red card is indisputable. Pathetic!
