9 milliards de dollars d'investissements turcs pour financer des projets dans le secteur de l’énergie
Senegalese Ambassador to Turkey Moustapha Sokhna Diop has announced that Turkish private investors plan to finance energy projects in Senegal, amounting to $9 billion (approximately 5,000 billion CFA francs).
“We are talking about several billion dollars of investments expected from the Turkish private sector. For the energy sector alone, we are talking about nearly 9 billion dollars, not including investments in agriculture, construction, and also in the development of the industrial sector,” said Moustapha Sokhna Diop.
He spoke during an interview with APS this Sunday at the Senegalese-Turkish Business Forum held in Istanbul.
This forum, organized by the Private Businessmen's Association of Turkey, the Foreign Economic Relations Council (DEIK) and the Senegalese Agency for the Promotion of Investments and Major Works (APIX), brought together 300 businessmen, including 50 from Senegal.
The diplomat stressed that many investment proposals in the form of PPPs [public-private partnerships] or direct investments, in structuring projects that will not further increase Senegal's debt burden tomorrow, were noted during this conference.
These investors will be received later in Dakar by the various ministers concerned to deepen discussions and, for the Senegalese side, to better study their projects, he added.

Se satisfaire de ressources limitées, c’est condamner le pays à rester dans une posture de dépendance et à manquer les opportunités de développement qui exigent audace et investissement stratégique.
