Budget Historique de 356 Milliards F CFA : Le Sénégal Vise la Souveraineté Économique par l'Industrialisation
The Finance and Budgetary Control Committee, expanded to include the Economic Affairs Committee, adopted on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the 2026 budget of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, defended by Minister Serigne Guèye Diop.
An Unprecedented Budgetary Leap
The budget allocated to the ministerial department for 2026 reaches a record amount of 355.93 billion CFA francs in commitment authorizations. This figure represents a dramatic increase of 609.62% compared to the 2025 budget (50.15 billion CFA francs).
This unprecedented budgetary leap demonstrates the government's commitment to making the industrial and commercial sector a major pillar of the country's economic sovereignty.
The Five Strategic Priorities
The budget allocation is structured around five flagship programs, reflecting the government's ambition for transformation:
* 109 billion CFA francs are allocated to the development of competitive industrial hubs and sectors, constituting the most well-funded program.
33 billion CFA francs are allocated to the fight against the high cost of living and the modernization of trade.
3.3 billion CFA francs are earmarked for supporting SMEs/SMIs (Small and Medium Enterprises/Small and Medium Industries).
2.4 billion CFA francs are dedicated to the management and coordination of the sector.
2.2 billion CFA francs will be used for trade defense and international development.
The Minister's Vision
Minister Serigne Guèye Diop stated that this unprecedented increase aims to accelerate industrial transformation, support small businesses, and boost local competitiveness. This approach is fully aligned with the National Development Strategy (SND 2025–2029) and the Economic and Social Recovery Plan (PRES – Jubbanti Koom).
"This budget reflects our ambition to build a sovereign, inclusive and sustainable economy, based on the development of national industrial potential," he told the Commission.
