Code général des impôts : Ce que le ministre Cheikh Diba a dit aux députés

It's a tax reform. Members of Parliament are being asked to vote on the bill on the General Tax Code this Thursday, September 18. It covers money transfer transactions, imported vehicles, gambling, alcohol and alcoholic beverages, and tobacco.

The Minister of Finance and Budget, Cheikh Diba, defended the said project. He stated that as part of the implementation of the National Transformation Agenda "Senegal 2050", the Government adopted the Economic and Social Recovery Plan (PRES) which is part of the "vision of economic reconstruction, backed by national sovereignty, social justice and transparency in the management of public resources". The authority notes that the financing of the PRES is mainly based on the optimization of the mobilization of endogenous resources, which should be sought by exploring, among other things, new tax niches with high contribution capacities to the economic and social development effort.

According to him, it is necessary to take into consideration the developments noted in the structuring of the economy, in particular the growing importance of digital transactions in the overall volume of financial flows.

"The minister also noted that the reform is an opportunity to continue using the tax system as an instrument of public regulation to act on certain risky behaviors and consumption such as gambling, alcohol and tobacco," indicated the Finance and Budget Control Committee at the National Assembly.

Je pense qu'il faut imposer 50% des fonds communs pour un véritable plan de redressement.
