Dividendes dans les mines : Le montant record amassé par l’Etat
news for public finances. The Senegalese government has collected a nice sum in dividends from mining companies.
The report on the situation of dividends received by the State in the mining sector in 2025, drawn up by the Société des Mines du Sénégal (Somisen), reveals that the Senegalese government was able to collect 41.4 billion CFA francs this year, compared to 23.2 billion CFA francs in 2024.
The document, reviewed by Seneweb, indicates that the resources collected this year largely double the average for the four years, which is 18.1 billion CFA francs (126%).
The company, headed by Ngagne Demba Touré, reports that the dividend distribution will also result in the payment of securities income tax (IRVM). This will generate other resources.
"Consequently, the total amount of dividends paid to shareholders generated 29.532 billion CFA francs in revenue for Irvm. This translates into a cumulative result from the distribution of dividends of 70.957 billion CFA francs," Somisen continues in its document.
