In September 2025, the Harmonized Consumer Price Index (HCPI, base 100 in 2023) shows a 2.6% increase over one year, according to the latest data. This increase is mainly driven by the rise in the price of food and non-alcoholic beverages (+4.9%), restaurant and accommodation services (+2.2%), furniture and household equipment (+2.5%), housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+1.0%), transport (+2.5%), health services (+2.1%) and especially alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics (+8.4%).
This increase was, however, slowed by the fall in prices for information and communication services (-3.2%) and personal care, social protection and miscellaneous goods (-1.4%). Core inflation, excluding energy and fresh produce, stood at 4.8%. By origin, local products increased by 5.1%, while imported products fell by 2.9%. In terms of sustainability, non-durable goods (+3.8%) and services (+1.9%) pushed inflation up, followed by durable goods (+1.2%) and semi-durable goods (+0.4%).
