Marché UEMOA : après 99 milliards F CFA, le Sénégal réemprunte 95 milliards dès le 28 novembre
Faced with successive downgrades of its sovereign rating and restricted access to the international market, Senegal continues to rely heavily on the WAEMU regional financial market to finance its economy.
After successfully raising 99 billion CFA francs last Friday—an operation hailed by the Ministry of Finance as a sign of "renewed confidence"—the government is already planning a further issuance of 95 billion. According to Le Quotidien, this is scheduled for November 28.
To date, according to the daily newspaper of the Avenir Communication group, Senegal has a total outstanding amount of 4,307.86 billion on the WAEMU Public Securities Market, illustrating its strong dependence on this financing mechanism.
