Recettes pétrolières doublées, exportations en hausse, imports en recul : Les chiffres impressionnants du 1er semestre
In Senegal, the improvement in foreign trade continues. June figures released by the National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD) show that the country's exports reached 514.6 billion CFA francs, compared to 469.7 billion the previous month. This represents an increase of 9.6%.
Crude oil exports contributed significantly to this improvement. They climbed to 150.8 billion CFA francs in June 2025, compared to only 73.2 billion CFA francs the previous month. They more than doubled over the period.
Titanium exports, which increased from 5.1 billion in May to 19.1 billion CFA francs in June, and gold exports, which rose to 77.6 billion in June from 65.2 billion the previous month, also contributed to the increase in the level of exports, according to the monthly foreign trade bulletin.
For the year 2025, cumulative exports amount to 2,840.3 billion CFA francs, compared to 1,672.9 billion for the first half of 2024. This represents an increase of 69.8%, according to the Ans.
As for imports, they amounted to 544.9 billion CFA francs in June, compared to 557.4 billion in May. This represents a decrease of 2.2%. The cumulative total for the first half of 2025 stands at 3,568.8 billion CFA francs, compared to 3,399.2 billion for the same period in 2024. This represents an increase of 5.0%.
Ultimately, the trade balance improved. It stood at -30.5 billion CFA francs in June, compared to -87.7 billion the previous month. The cumulative trade balance at the end of June 2025 stands at -728.7 billion CFA francs, compared to -1,726.3 billion CFA francs in the same period of 2024.

Mais, tout est de plus en plus cher. La classe moyenne se paupérise, rejoint les smicards, le diable a fui.
