Sortie du Franc CFA : Les révélations du gouverneur de la BCEAO sur les États de l’AES
The question of the future of the CFA franc is once again at the center of discussions. In December 2024, during his general policy speech, Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko called for a currency "more in line with the needs of the regional economy."
These remarks echoed those of certain leaders of the countries of the Alliance of Sahel States (ESA), determined to demonstrate their desire to turn the page on the CFA franc.
In response to these statements, the governor of the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO), Jean-Claude Kassi Brou, sought to clarify the official position of the institution he heads. In an interview with Jeune Afrique, he provided an unambiguous framework. "On the subject, it is important to be clear and precise. We have not received, at least not officially, any indication from a UMOA member country of its desire to abandon the CFA franc," he explained.
Then he stated: "There is therefore no process underway for an exit from the CFA franc."
Asked about the recurrence of statements by heads of state or political leaders evoking the possibility of an alternative monetary path, Jean-Claude Kassi Brou preferred not to comment: "I am not here to interpret speeches. That is not my role. I stick to the facts, to clear, precise and objective situations."
He also reiterated the continuity of regional cooperation. "The eight UMOA countries continue to work together, following all the rules they have collectively put in place. We continue to work as we have always worked," he said.

Qui est fou pour sortir du CFA avec des pays pauvres parmi les plus pauvres du Monde. Hara Kiri si vous suivez Guy Marius et cie d'apprentis économistes. Les putchistes de l'AES le savent maintenant.

Avant la monnaie la logique c est de sortir d abord de l uemoa qui n est qu un cedeao francophone
Mais on parle mais jamais de date
Le CFA arrange plus la France que les membres de la zone franc
