Tensions entre PROD ADF et la BNDE : la banque clarifie sa position
A controversy has erupted in the Senegalese banking sector following statements made by the promoter of PROD ADF during a press conference held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. The manager accused the National Bank for Economic Development (BNDE) of being an "armed arm of the state" aimed at harming her professional activities and damaging her reputation. These allegations were immediately contested by the banking institution, which chose to re-establish the facts in an official press release used by Seneweb.
The BNDE reiterates that it is "not a branch of the State but a commercial bank, duly approved by the WAEMU Banking Commission, in the same way as all other financial institutions in the market." The institution insists on its strict compliance with banking legislation and the professional and ethical standards of the sector.
Regarding PROD ADF's credit file, the bank claims to have acted "in accordance with regulatory provisions and its internal procedures, without any external interference or political considerations." It also assures that its recovery procedures are "uniform and applied without distinction to all its customers."
In terms of litigation, the BNDE specifies that it "has always complied with the rules regarding the management of litigation files" and that it "reserves the right to use all legal and regulatory means to defend its image and credibility with its clients and partners."
The bank emphasized its contribution to national economic development. It reaffirmed its commitment to supporting SMEs and SMIs, considered "the heart of its mission," and its intention to support entrepreneurs in a framework that is "fair, transparent, and compliant with the requirements of the banking sector."
