CEM de Kolibantang : L'établissement attend toujours ses professeurs
Nearly two months after the start of classes, some grade levels at the Kolibantang middle school (CEM), located in the Goudomp district (Sedhiou region), have still not begun. These include French, mathematics, and life and earth sciences (SVT).
Tired of waiting, the students have been staging a 48-hour renewable strike since last Monday to make their voices heard. They justify this decision by pointing out that within the academy, assessments are conducted at the zonal, departmental, or regional level. Consequently, they risk not being at the same level as their peers in other schools during these standardized assessments. The school principal told our colleagues at Radio Pukumel that, in addition to the vacant position of a biology teacher, further departures have exacerbated the teacher shortage. He stated that he has a 30-hour teaching schedule waiting on his desk.
