CRD sur la rentrée scolaire : Sedhiou prend des mesures urgentes
To ensure an effective return to school on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, stakeholders in the education system met in a regional development committee (CRD) chaired by the governor. Following this conclave of stakeholders, strong and urgent measures were taken.
This is how the weeding, disinfection and disinfestation of schools were decided upon by the start of the school year. The second measure consists of transporting the newly acquired desks and benches to the beneficiary schools. Then, the academic authority assessed the situation of the teaching staff to inform the Ministry of Education of the deficit to be covered before the start of the school year. The penultimate measure relates to the timely payment of allowances related to end-of-year exams, which could disrupt the stability of the system.
Finally, Governor Diadia Dia spoke about the Mpox disease, stressing that the relevant services have been instructed to take the necessary measures to prevent its spread in schools. He also welcomed the measure taken by the ministry regarding the ban on mobile phones in schools, noting that it could contribute to the decline in students' standards, unless its use remains educational.
