Edupolsen à Louga : la police à l'école de la citoyenneté au Lycée Malick Sall

The Edupolsen project officially launched its activities in the Louga region on Monday, June 1, 2026, at the Malick Sall High School. This marks the start of a four-day civic immersion program in Diambour, as part of the national rollout of the program.

The solemn ceremony was presided over by the Deputy Governor of the region, in the presence of Chief Commissioner Gnima Diédhiou, head of the Regional Public Security Service. The event brought together numerous administrative, political, and religious authorities, as well as representatives of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS).

Among those present were the Prefect of the department, the commander of the garrison, the representative of the Mayor, the Inspector of the Academy, and the Inspector of Education and Training (IEF). Community leaders, neighborhood delegates, representatives of the imams, and Badienou Gokh also responded to the call, alongside a highly mobilized teaching staff.

The day began with a solemn flag-raising ceremony, a symbol of the republican values embodied by this initiative. This was followed by a series of speeches, from the Headmaster to the President of the Student Government, including representatives of religious, traditional, and municipal authorities.

The Central Commissioner's message

In his address, the Central Commissioner of Louga reiterated the purpose of the Edupolsen project: to strengthen civic education among young people and consolidate the bond of trust between the police and the community. He urged the students to cultivate discipline, respect their teachers' instruction, and fully commit to their studies.

The local authorities and the school administration welcomed the relevance of the approach and were delighted that Louga had been chosen to host this initiative. This first phase concluded with the presentation of a symbolic gift to the Deputy Governor by Chief Commissioner Diédhiou, a moment commemorated by a group photograph.

The rest of the day was devoted to awareness workshops led by cybersecurity experts from the Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS) and the Communication and Public Relations Division (DIVCOM), under the direction of Commissioner Mamadou Diouf. These highly interactive discussions allowed high school students to freely discuss the workings of the police force, the dangers of cybercrime, and the devastating effects of drugs, making this first day a resounding educational success.
