Etablissements d'enseignement publics et privés : L’ANAQ-Sup met en garde contre les diplômes non reconnus
In the Thiès region, only three of the four public higher education establishments and nine of the 32 private establishments listed have obtained accreditation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, Research and Innovation (ANAQ-Sup), which warns against the risks of unrecognized diplomas.
These revelations were made during a meeting of the Regional Development Committee (CRD) for the popularization of the national policy of quality assurance of higher education, research and innovation with the actors of the national education ecosystem of Thiès.
The Executive Secretary of ANAQ-Sup, Prof. Massamba Diouf, recalled that 30 programs from the three authorized public institutions have been accredited, while nine authorized private institutions have around fifteen accredited programs.
He warned of the risks associated with unrecognized diplomas, which can hinder student mobility, limit their access to national competitions and prevent their recruitment into the civil service.
Professor Diouf emphasized that the current context is marked by the knowledge economy and the massification of enrollment, leading to an increase in the number of private higher education institutions. He emphasized that the role of ANAQ-Sup is to support institutions by providing them with the information necessary to improve their quality level, while ensuring their evaluation.
A process which, he says, leads to a report intended for institutions, the supervisory authority and the community.
